Urban League hosts medical marijuana panel Experts to share information for community and entrepreneurs Atlanta, GA (Nov. 25, 2019) – To offer the public an opportunity to understand Georgia's new medical marijuana law, the Urban League of Greater Atlanta is hosting a Town Hall meeting on Monday, Dec. 2, 2019, from 6 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. at the Metropolitan Branch Library, 1332 Metropolitan Parkway, SW, Atlanta. The Town Hall is FREE and open to the public.The town hall will feature a discussion with experts on the law and the economic opportunities and community and societal issues the bill will affect. Panelists, including policymakers, entrepreneurs, community leaders, residents and more will explore key provisions of the law and share insights on cultivation centers, dispensaries and business opportunities for minority and women-owned businesses. An audience Q&A will follow the panel.The discussion will promote an understanding of the following:· What's legal and what's not. What does it mean for you, your family and community regarding benefits or harm?· How will the law change economic opportunities for minority businesses?· How can you protect yourself as a consumer, producer or advocate for black business interests under the complex law?· How communities of color can get a foothold in what is becoming a billion-dollar growth industry in the state, around the country and the world.
